A retreat within reach

Schultz Miller teamed up with architect Robert Moore and interior designer Maryika Byskiniewicz to create this backyard yoga studio in Clyde Hill.  Much skill and effort went into selecting and laying stone to give the structure a centuries-old feel, expanding on the theme begun with the main house. The Pennsylvania fieldstone masonry is complemented by a Ludowici clay tile roof, exposed Ipe rafter tails, and copper half-round gutters and downspouts. The coffered main space features textured walls hand-stenciled by Cathy Conner to resemble Indian print fabric.  The space is extended to the outdoors with a fabric-roofed patio that allows the homeowners to enjoy the studio inside and out in all seasons.
